|
| The B&M short shifter fits all 2000-2003
Eclipses. Both the GT and RS/GS models. It is not for the
Sportronic equipped automatic transmission cars :-P
We measured a 1" reduction in shift knob travel with this
shifter. The kit is complete, all necessary install parts are
included.
Price is $140 (does not come with shift knob nor we
offer it else where on the site) Energy Suspension
Shifter
Base Bushings $10 additional with shifter purchase.
*Note, B&M short shifter for 2000 ~ up
no longer comes with the billet shift knob. You can call B&M
at
1-818-882-6422
and ask them why they did not include the billet shift knob as it
did before. |

3G Eclipse V-6 Clutches - GT 5 Speed
Advanced Clutch Technology
|
$460
|
ACT has just introduced the Heavy Duty series clutch for the
V-6 Eclipse only (not for the Stratus). By optimizing the geometry inside the pressure
plate and using a 6% larger disc with a sprung hub, the torque
handling capacity has been increased by over 50%. This is done
while still using an organic street disc for smooth engagement
and no chatter.
A full race disc is available by special order also, but we
don't think you need it. Price includes a factory throw
out bearing.

2100lb Full Face H-D Street (Organic) disc
(includes factory plastic sleeved throw out bearing) |
$ 335 |
| ACT clutches use a 2100 lb
pressure pate with a full face high friction organic
disc. There is some increased pedal effort for the 2100 lb
clutch. We do not recommend the ACT 2600 lb clutch for use
on the stock flywheel because the additional load it puts on the
flex plate concerns us.
ACT also makes "Race" discs. Everyone thinks they
have a race car, we don't think you do :-) If you want a race
disc (4 puck or 6 puck) call or e-mail and tell us why you want
a broken tranny, heavy chatter, and extreme driveline noise. We
will special order a "race" disc for you.
ACT parts are available separately, but buy individual parts
at your own risk. Most times when you kill a disc, the friction
surface of the pressure plate will also be warped from the heat.
ACT discs can be used with a Centerforce pressure plate if the
pressure plate is in good condition.

Centerforce Dual-Friction, H-D Ball Bearing Pivot
Clutch
|
$ 375
|
| Fits All 4 cylinder
2000-2003 Eclipses
Centerforce uses a unique design with the Eclipse clutch to
allow a high clamp load but still retain an easy pedal effort.
ball bearing pivot points for the diaphragm for an
easy pedal effort. We recommend it highly for
any car with considerable additional power and torque on tap.
While it is fine for going fast, it is perfectly
streetable. Centerforce uses Marcel (wavy metal layer)
between the layers of the clutch disc and a sprung center hub to
make the engagement smoother than most performance
clutches.
If you are serious about drag racing and chasing a magic
number, if you launch hard and often, get the ACT 2600.
Excessive heat from repeated launches will kill the CFDF (and
most other clutches). You will hear quite varied opinions about
CFDF all over the internet. Some guys run fast with them
forever, others have killed them in under 6 months. It is all up
to you. If you make repeated launches and runs you will
seriously shorten it's life. If you are disciplined enough to
let things cool down between runs you will be fine. Just like
overheating your brakes will give you no grip, the same thing
happens with your clutch. Get it hot enough and you will turn
the disc into kitty hair. The
Centerforce will slip a little more, but this can be safer. You
choose your weak point...clutch or hard parts.
Price includes factory plastic sleeved throw out bearing to
protect your transmission input shaft sleeve.
