While these are quite beautiful, they are not for Disco Show Lowered Dumpy Boyze. If you ask how low you can go with them, that is the first clue that they are not for you. That said, you can go low enough to slam the tires up into the fenders and still have more suspension travel to go. Since the body length is fully adjustable, you can set where the suspension gets into the bump stops and at what ride height you want to be at. You want a stock height car with stiffer spring? No problem. You want a lowered car with full travel? No problem. You want to take rough rail road crossings at full speed? No problem. You want ace track handling on the street? No problem. You want it to ride like a Cadillac? Big problem. Oddly enough, these race parts are a serious performance  suspension package. It is not for crybabies. Even with stiff suspension, by keeping full travel and with excellent damping you will get the best ride possible. Every time you change the ride height, you will need to re-adjust the toe-in settings. You will not be raising and lowering the car every other day. All this adjustment is both a blessing and a curse. You have about 8" of possible adjustment to play with, only about 3/8" of it is in the sweet spot. You can tune it for pure magic or pure misery. These are the same struts and shocks we use on our road racing car, but they are streetable enough for our customers with street daily drivers that also hit the canyons hard and run open tracking days. We are now in our third year of selling, racing, installing and tuning JIC Suspension products.

Price for the full kit is $1900. We can give you the spring rates that we judge best for your application, based on our experience with many different cars, we provide different spring rate than what JIC USA typically ships. Or if you think you know better, we'll give you what ever available spring rate you ask for. For the $1850 price you get the parts straight out of the box from JIC. For an additional $100 we will pre-adjust and set up the suspension to our own settings to best fit your needs and usage. You will still need to do a little fine tuning but this will save you a day's work in getting them set up. Alternate spring rates are available for $80 each later on, or for additional springs at the time of purchase.

We sell them installed, tuned and fully set up for $2150 out the door for anyone that can drive to the shop. An appointment is required. Includes a complimentary Demo/Hell-Ride with our suspension set up pro John Mueller to show you what your car is capable of  if you are so inclined. We will not get into exact spring rates with you until a purchase commitment has been made. E-mail John to set up an install date.

These are the FLT-A2 Struts and Shocks. Please compare carefully. There are many completely false JIC web pages out there. We will not sell the cheaper SF-1 kits, They are only about $400 cheaper and have less than half of the features. Body length is too short and not adjustable, the shock valving also is not adjustable on the SF-1 kits. There is a 6 week lead time to get these in the US, you may need to plan ahead some. We will try to keep these in stock. We constantly have them on order, but with the long lead time, you may catch us out of a particular model for a week or two. Demand will set stocking levels. Take note here, these are not JIC stock pics ripped from their web page. These are actual pics of Eclipse JICs in our hands. Big difference.

JIC FLT-A2 Set Parts Only

 $1850

JIC FLT-A2 Set With Set-Up $1950
JIC FLT-A2 Set Installed/Aligned $2150
For wheels wider than 8", certain offsets and wide (245+) tires- add $100 for set up to confirm necessary body clearance.

*The $300 set-up/install/alignment offer is only for suspensions purchased from RRE. We give a substantial savings on our standard labor rates to ensure our customers get full benefit/value from their new suspension system. We do perform set-up on JICs and other types of suspensions purchased elsewhere, and have hands on experience tuning all types of suspensions currently available, but these jobs are billed at the shop labor rate of $60 per hour. Many suspension systems that are sold by ‘discount’ web sites are shipped with springs that are totally inadequate for the application, if needed, springs are available for $70 each. We budget 7 hours of labor for the typical consultation, vehicle disassembly, suspension travel analysis, shock/strut set-up and adjustment, vehicle reassembly, and 4-wheel alignment. These set-ups are adjusted to our favored height ratios that we have developed on track, this is how we adjust to our standard level of corner weighting. Competition corner weighting, is available on our precision scales for $60 per hour additional, usually we can dial in a car which we have set-up in our shop within an hour, depending on the level of accuracy the customer desires and is willing to pay for. Getting the cross weight within one tenth of a percentage point is attainable, but will be billed on an hourly basis. Please email john@roadraceengineering.com for scheduling your appointment, and clarifying any further questions you may have.

1gfwd-flta2-adjuster.jpg (27461 bytes) Front strut valving adjuster is at the bottom of the strut. The rear shock adjustment is at the top of the shock.
1gfwd-flta2-bigshaft.jpg (21179 bytes) Front struts are an inverted "upside down" design. This makes it look as if the shock piston is huge. What you are seeing is actually the shock body. This makes for less unsprung weight and a much stronger strut.

2G Eclipse JIC FLT-A2 Pics

2g-frontbearingplate.jpg (26480 bytes) 2G Bearing Plate detail. Since the upper hock mount location does not affect the camber, the JIC upper bearing plates are not adjustable.
2g-bodylengthadjustment.jpg (22994 bytes) 2G shock lower body length adjustment.

The shock valving adjustment is the knob at the top of both the front and rear shocks.

2g-bodylengthadjustment-longshortfront.jpg (30039 bytes) The body length is adjustable to allow you to set where you will get into the bump stops. Too short on the body length and you will get the shock "topping out". Too much body length and you'll be hitting the bump stops and travel limited. Just right and you'll get the perfect suspension travel at a lower ride height.
