asm (anti-sub-marining)

   If you are in a head on collision and wearing
   a harnessbelt without asm or a crotch strap,
   the likelihood of submarining - sliding
   violently beneath the lap belt - is high.
   Submarining can cause serious, even life
   threatening injuries to legs, spine and
   internal organs. However, risk of submarining
   is minimized when you wear a SCHROTH
   harnessbelt with patented asm
   (anti-sub-marining) technology.

   How does asm work? The device is positioned on the in-board strap of
   SCHROTH's double shoulder harness. When the energy converter is
   deployed (caused by dynamic forces of instant deceleration), it forces the
   driver's torso and hips to rotate slightly into an asymmetrical posture which
   tightens the lap belt milliseconds faster and helps minimize the risk of
   submarining. SCHROTH requires no painful crotch strap to provide
   anti-submarining protection.
